Admission eligibility
Established under the Special Act on the Establishment and Operation of Foreign Educational Institutions. Korean nationals may enroll within a quota (usually 30–50%) with no overseas-residency requirement. Korean academic credit is also recognized in many cases once required hours in Korean language and social studies (history) are completed.

Admission eligibility
Established under the Elementary and Secondary Education Act. Eligibility requires that one parent is a foreign national, or that the student has lived abroad for at least 3 years (1,095 days). Korean academic credit is generally not recognized, apart from some schools.
