Jangsu is known for producing some of Koreaโs finest Hanu (Korean beef) and apples. Launched in 2007 with these two local specialties at its heart, the festival reaches its 20th edition in 2026, making a long and distinguished history. It also holds the distinction of being Koreaโs first Red Color Festival. Since 2024, the festival has expanded its focus from Hanu and apples to a broader range of Jangsu Red Foods, including omija and tomatoes. It now also features a growing selection of processed specialties such as apple beer, apple soju, apple bread, and omija wine. Having evolved from Koreaโs first Red Color Festival into the countryโs first Red Food Festival, the event continues to expand its scope and enhance its standing as one of Koreaโs leading cultural tourism festivals.
